The mission of AMCHAM is to facilitate investment in the Indian market by US companies, support the business operations of its members, and encourage bilateral trade between the U.S. and India. Its membership comprises more than 400 American companies in India. Its national executive board is comprised of the Country Heads of leading U.S. corporations. The organization is also a powerful advocate for its members in India. To help its member companies succeed in the country, AMCHAM organizes luncheon meetings with distinguished speakers on topics of importance.

The organization works to advance the interests of the Indian-American business community, including the South Asian diaspora. It is also an important networking platform, providing valuable services and networking opportunities for members. Launched on May 13, 2004, the AICC is committed to supporting the business community in both countries. To this end, the organization organizes business expos and educational symposiums. AICC members also support humanitarian causes such as disaster relief and education.
